Spectrasonics was founded in 1994 by Eric Persing — one of the most respected sound designers in the music industry, whose work with Roland defined the sounds of synthesisers used in music production throughout the 1980s and 1990s. Spectrasonics was built on the conviction that software instruments could achieve a depth and expressiveness previously only possible with the finest hardware synthesisers.

The electric bass sampling captures string-specific articulations, slides, hammer-ons and harmonics at a level of detail that makes Trilian genuinely competitive with live bass in a mix. Widely used by film composers for whom live bass is impractical but quality is non-negotiable.
