MediaCast was founded in Dubai in the mid-1990s with a clear and deliberate purpose: to bring the world's best professional creative technology to the professionals who were, at that exact moment, building the Middle East's media industry from the ground up. We didn't arrive once the industry was established. We were part of building it.
In those early years, our customers were recording studios, post-production houses and broadcast facilities that were themselves just beginning. We learned the market as it grew — built relationships that lasted decades, expanded our portfolio to match every major shift in how creative technology evolved, and earned a reputation that no marketing budget can manufacture.
Today MediaCast represents more than 60 of the world's leading professional audio and video brands. Our team of 50+ specialists operates from Dubai and Istanbul. MediaCast is established in Dubai. The founding team isn't looking for a market gap — they are professionals who understand creative technology and see, in the Gulf's rapidly developing media landscape, an industry that needs a distributor who genuinely knows what they're selling. From day one, the philosophy is the same as it is today: represent the best brands, hire people who know them, and serve customers who build things with them.
The early customers are recording studios, fledgling broadcast facilities and post-production houses beginning to serve an advertising industry growing alongside Dubai itself.
MediaCast begins formalising its brand partnerships — securing distribution agreements with manufacturers whose quality it can genuinely stand behind. The criteria for accepting a brand are never about margin or volume. They are about whether the MediaCast team can represent it with real knowledge, and whether the professionals in the region will be better served for having it available.

The 2000s see an extraordinary expansion of broadcast media across the Arab world. New channels, new studios, new production facilities, new budgets, new ambition. The region's media companies go from startup-scale to internationally significant in less than a decade.
MediaCast is positioned at the centre of this growth. Major broadcast infrastructure projects across the GCC, Jordan, Egypt and beyond run on equipment our team specified and supported. The reseller network begins to take serious shape.
Professional AV undergoes one of its most dramatic transformations: the shift from hardware-defined SDI routing to software-defined, IP-based production workflows. MediaCast doesn't wait to respond — we lead it in our market. Among the first distributors in the region to build genuine expertise in NDI, Dante, AES67 and IP video.
And then Blackmagic Design changes cinema forever. The Blackmagic Cinema Camera puts large-sensor, RAW-capable, professional-grade imaging into the hands of independent filmmakers for the first time at an accessible price point. A filmmaker in Dubai, Beirut or Istanbul could now shoot like Hollywood. MediaCast was the regional partner that made it happen from day one.
MediaCast establishes its Istanbul office, extending reach into Turkey and opening access to Central Asian markets — Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and beyond. Turkey proves to be a sophisticated and dynamic market: a world-class music production and post-production industry, a professional broadcast sector, and a creative community that responds immediately to the MediaCast approach.
The Istanbul team is built with the same philosophy as Dubai: genuine expertise first, relationships over transactions, long-term thinking over short-term volume.
COVID-19 shuts down every trade show and industry event on the planet. MediaCast doesn't pause. We build something that had never been done in the region — a fully produced, two-day virtual summit replacing the trade show format entirely. Every major brand in our portfolio participates.
