THE BRIEF
The complete cinema workflow — from one distributor.
Cinema production has three distinct phases — acquisition, post-production and delivery — each with its own technology requirements. What makes the Blackmagic Design ecosystem remarkable is that the same company makes world-class tools for all three: URSA and PYXIS cameras for acquisition, DaVinci Resolve for post, and Blackmagic Cloud for delivery.
The URSA Cine 12K LF received Netflix approval in January 2025, announced through MediaCast. For productions targeting international streaming platforms, this matters enormously — Netflix’s approved camera list is short and the bar is high. The URSA Cine now sits alongside cameras costing five to ten times more.
MediaCast carries the complete cinema ecosystem: cameras, cinema lenses, on-set monitoring, DIT tools, shared storage, colour grading control surfaces and audio post equipment. Our DaVinci Resolve specialist Abigail Taguilid is available to advise on colour workflow at any stage of your production.
WHO THIS IS FOR
EQUIPMENT BREAKDOWN
Every layer of a live production system.
Large-format acquisition
The URSA Cine 12K LF — Netflix approved January 2025 — shoots in 12K on a large-format sensor delivering extraordinary dynamic range. The PYXIS 6K offers cinema-grade imagery in a compact, gimbal-friendly body. The Pocket 6K Pro G2 is the entry-level cinema camera with no compromise on image quality. All shoot Blackmagic RAW.
Fujinon
I's Fujinon cinema lens range spans compact PL primes to large-format cinema zooms. The Premista series covers large-format sensors with extraordinary sharpness edge-to-edge. MediaCast's Fujinon specialist Richard Lackey is Dubai-based — the only dedicated Fujinon representative in the region.
See what you're capturing
Blackmagic Video Assist monitors provide on-set HDR monitoring and recording in 12K. SmartScope Duo delivers professional waveform, vectorscope and histogram analysis — ensuring the DoP and colourist are looking at the same image on set and in the grade. Critical for any production planning a serious colour pipeline.
DaVinci Resolve
DaVinci Resolve is the industry standard for professional colour grading and is increasingly the default editing platform for cinema. Resolve Studio adds noise reduction, object tracking and multi-user collaboration. The Micro and Mini panels give colourists physical grading control that transforms the creative process. SNS EVO shared storage handles multi-editor, multi-user access to large-format media without proxies. The same platform proven by the Blinx 4K deployment in the region. Fast enough for DIT-to-grade workflows on set.
Sound for picture
Universal Audio Apollo for production sound post and ADR recording. UAD plug-ins include Studer, SSL and Neve channel strip emulations — giving sound designers broadcast-quality tools for dialogue, foley and music finishing. Warm Audio WA-87 for ADR and voice-over sessions.
